Hi, Again.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve blogged or posted any rudimentary form of content. I apologize for that. A lot has happened in the past few weeks.  So please, allow me to catch you up on very little of it.

First off, allow me to establish that school has been one of the predominant factors in hindering my ability and leisure to blog. I do care about my schooling, reluctantly, of course. If could stop caring I would write, take photographs, and make movies everyday. But of course, that is not realistic- nor is it logical. My second semester started in January and on the first week I was already bombarded with imponderable amounts of work. However, with the innate abilities for time management and efficiency I developed last semester- I did well, and still am.

My Art

Although my freelance photography has been practically dead in the past month, I did have a few bookings lined up. I covered a church event, a wedding, and some other things. As for my filmmaking, I have grown substantially in my cinematography, editing, and above all- screenwriting. I began a screenplay in December and diligently worked on it to the beginning of January until I hit a fork in the road of my story. So I stepped back from writing for a few weeks and tried to reconcile my story, but that didn’t work out. This was rather disappointing because I was 22 pages in and I really attached myself to the plot and characters. However, in the wake of my writer’s block, I conceived the best piece I’ve ever written. It’s funny/amazing how God can create something amazing out of nothing. I began this new screenplay last Sunday night, and wrote almost everyday until last night- when I finished it. It is much shorter than my previous one, a mere 11 pages, but the quality of the story is insurmountable. So, I’ve decided that I’m going to bring it to life in a short film. My school has an annual film festival, and last year I participated for the first time. I loved the whole experience and the epic journey it provided. This year, however, I plan on delivering something incomparable to last year’s submission. It’s going to be amazing. I won’t go into detail as to what the screenplay is about- but I will say this: expect an amazing story that will grip your heart and challenge your mind. It’s going to be a fun ride.

I’ll be in touch.
